About Damascus steel
Damascus steel was a type of steel used for manufacturing sword blades in the Near East made with wootz steel. These swords are characterized by distinctive patterns of banding and mottling reminiscent of flowing water. Such blades were reputed to be tough, resistant to shattering, and capable of being honed to a sharp, resilient edge.

A few tips on how to keep your pendant in good condition.
1) If the pendant has rusted, you can clean it with the help of 1500 wet/dry sandpaper or 0000 steel wool that acts as a cutting agent.
2) Polish it. To polish, use a soft, non-abrasive polishing cloth. You can use a dab of whitening toothpaste to gently polish the surface. Be sure to dry your Damascus steel quickly with a soft cloth, and take care not to leave water on the surface.
3) Use wax. After cleaning and drying your pendant, you should lubricate it with wax to prevent moisture from affecting the surface. We recommend Renaissance Wax because it will keep your pendant rust-free and maintain its etched beauty.
